GETTING TO KNOW ELAN HEALTHSTYLE
DR CARIKE CAMPHOR
General Practitioner
MBChB(Pret)
Dr Carike Camphor grew up and attended school and university in Pretoria. She moved to Nelspruit to complete her internship and community service and settled here for good.
Carike joined a local private practice in 2015 where she quickly established her unique patient profile who have proven to be loyal and appreciative of Carike’s soft demeanour and happy disposition.
Carike’s area of interest is paediatrics, women’s health and integrative medicine. Mentored by her mother, Carike developed and implemented Nelspruit’s first prenatal class course provided by a medical doctor. Her passion for this area of medicine is so easily reflected in her work with the little ones.
DIRKIE COOMANS
Physiotherapist
Dirkie Coomans is Elan Healthstyle’s head physiotherapist.
Dirkie refers to herself as a true Free State farm girl, having grown up in Frankfort and studying at the University of the Free State.
Dirkie relocated to Nelspruit to complete her community service after university. An initial 3-year plan was overturned after experiencing the Lowveld’s warm climate as opposed to that of the Free State which she was so used to.
Dirkie started working in private practice in 2012. Her passion for her work and willingness to always help is one of the elements that sets her practice apart from others.
While Dirkie enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy, she has a special interest in paediatrics, orthopaedic, general outpatient work as well as sport injuries.

She then moved to the Lowveld to complete her internship and community service at Rob Ferreira Hospital and Themba Hospital respectively. She has called the Lowveld home ever since.
CHANTEL CRONJE
Physiotherapist
We welcomed Chantel to the physiotherapy team in January 2020. Having grown up in Nelspruit, Chantel moved back to the Lowveld after university to complete her internship here in Nelspruit and then joined the Dirkie Coomans Physiotherapy team. Chantel loves all aspects of physiotherapy but particularly enjoys paediatric work, sports related injuries as well as headaches and neck pain. A true Lowvelder, Chantel spends much of her free time in nature and hiking. Baking, reading and online shopping are other activities she enjoys outside of work.
Chantel is available full time here at Elan HealthStyle with the physiotherapy team.
